Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about hiring remote talent in India and South Africa through Insourcehire.

How is IP and confidentiality dealt with?

Your remote employees are legally bound to your employment terms. Your employment contract/terms are enacted and enforceable via Insourcehire as the formal local employer.

How can I be sure of candidate quality?

Every candidate goes through structured sourcing, screening, and — where relevant — technical discussion and testing with our in-house consultants, before you ever see a shortlist.

Will I save on salary costs?

Hiring in India and South Africa can offer meaningful cost advantages versus higher-cost local markets, depending on the role and market. We'll walk you through realistic numbers for your specific requirement rather than a blanket percentage.

Why not use a contractor or outsource to a third-party firm?

Top candidates in India and South Africa often prefer formal, full-time employment over contractor status — it gives them security, legitimacy and career stability. Outsourcing to a third-party firm also means you lose direct oversight of who's working on your business and how. Insourcehire lets you hire your own dedicated employee, formally, with full visibility, without needing your own local entity.

What are the implications of time zone differences?

For UK and South African clients, India and South Africa both offer workable business-hours overlap, and in many cases extend your total daily working window rather than shrinking it. For US clients, the gap to India is larger — typically 9.5–13 hours depending on your time zone — so the model usually works best as an early-shift or handoff arrangement rather than full same-day overlap; South Africa-based hires overlap more comfortably with US East Coast afternoons. We'll talk through the specific overlap for your team and time zone when you're ready to hire.

How long does the process take?

You can expect to start receiving matching candidate profiles for your position within a couple of days of submitting your requirements.

How does technical testing work within the hiring process?

Where relevant to the role, our in-house consultants facilitate technical discussions and testing as part of the recruitment fee, so you interview a shortlist that's already been vetted.

Remote working vs. office working — how does that affect the model?

Our model is built for remote-capable, digitally delivered roles. It isn't a fit for positions that require full-time physical, on-site presence.

How do I equip my employee(s) with hardware?

Hardware support is included as part of the ongoing Employer of Record service, so you don't have to solve equipment logistics yourself.

How long do we hire through you?

Employment continues for as long as you need the role — there's no arbitrary contract-length requirement on our side.

What if I need to end employment or replace a hire?

We guide you through dismissal in line with local labour law, and include a free candidate replacement within the first 3 months of a placement.

How is leave and public holidays handled?

Leave management is included in our monthly Employer of Record service, and is administered in line with the relevant local market's labour law.

Do I need my own entity in India or South Africa to hire there?

No — that's the core of what we solve. Insourcehire acts as the formal local employer on your behalf, so you can hire without setting up and maintaining your own local entity.
